Catching up on this Week

What a fun week we have had. Lilly wore a purple dress to school - I was thrilled she would try something different for a change (the pink dress is just about worn out!). She loved the pockets and thought she was a princess. She is very fashion forward as pockets are now the rage!
Gabby had her first Jazz/Hip Hop dance class. I caught her mid-action but I did capture her departure to class. It was a mixed bag. The moves are fast and it is hard for Gabby to see the small movements but it is great to push her and have her learn some new movements. She ws upset because she felt left out that the younger two girls and I had dinner without her and that our walk around the block sounded like more fun than her dance class....but overall - it was a good experience.
Maddy has been changing by leaps and bounds. She is turning into a little girl!! Her hair is getting long, her coordination is getting better and she is talking more and more. She is a verbal child and LOVES to hang out with her sisters at all times. She is enjoying Cheyenne (her new nanny) and they go on a walk/bike ride every morning. It turns out to be more of a walk as she insists on pushing the bike and will "freeze" you if you touch it (Lilly has started "freezing" people like Princess Else. When she gets angry, she will freeze you so you stay back....). All the girls have enjoyed playing with the cones. Maddy likes to stack and restack them. Lilly likes to organize them by color and Gabby and I love to race around them. Lately in the evenings we have been having family time outside and doing wheelbarrow races, sommersaults, hand stands (I even did one....it has been a very long time since I have tried to do things like this!), trampoline jumping, racing around cones, jumping jacks, touch touches, push-ups, and TENNIS! We took the girls down to the courts last night and let them hit some balls. Lilly won't let us help at all....but Gabby is able to bounce the ball and hit it with a racket - we are thrilled and so is she! Maddy just chases balls around the court, tries to avoid Lilly's swinging racket and munches on ice.

A Quick Trip to SLO

I took the older 2 girls for a quick trip over to SLO to visit Ashlee and the Children's Museum. Hard to believe it is only 2 hours away! We went with the Cupers and all of the kids had a great time. They loved the kitchen, firetruck, swing, etc...but nothing beat the dress up clothes. Gabby and Lilly were Elsa and Natalie was Ariel. They have a stellar performance of "Let it Go" and everyone in the museum heard and enjoyed it. They fed the hippo and overall had a blast. The girls had a great time and when we came back Lilly said she wanted to do it again so she could see "my Ashlee".
We also hit the beach but it was windy and the water was chilly and there were big waves. We had a wonderful picnic and then played in the water and headed home. The little ones were tuckered out! Fun times...

Lilly's Friends at School

Lilly has really been enjoying school and her friends. She loves to ride the pink unicorn pony around!! Here she is racing some friends at school. Lilly and Natalie have really become good friends and enjoy hanging out together at school.

First Day of Room 6 & Room 1

Today was the First Day of School here. Gabby is starting Room 6 (aka 1st Grade) with Ms. Billiard and Lillian is officially starting Room 1 with Ms. Isabelle.  Both girls are excited and really enjoy school.  Lilly waves bye to me and off she goes. She has decided Ms. Isabelle is her friend.  Gabby is excited for the adventure that awaits in Room 6. Gabby gets along very well with Ms. Gloria (the assistant teacher in Room 6) and her Spanish teacher she is also very excited because she gets to do arts and crafts every day now! Hard to believe my little girls are growing up!

San Diego Trip #2

Here are the pics from our 2nd trip to SD this month! The girls had an incredible time. Lots of zoo and beach time. We had the best tiger we have ever had and also had incredible hippos, lions and rhinos.  Lilly was into the dragon and snakes! We hunted for seashells, sand crabs and rocks at the beach. Gabby made lots of friends and had some awesome boogie boarding. The park was fun and Lilly enjoyed climbing the rock wall. The girls got interviewed by the local broadcaster at the beach...and I have NO idea what they said :) It was a fun trip and a great way to end the summer!

Wacky Wednesday

What's wackier than wacky? Two kids that are wacky! Both girls enjoyed dressing wacky and having fun. The summer is over and school starts on Monday - not sure I am ready for Gabby to be in 1st grade! Lilly is going to stay in Room 1 but has decided that Ms. Isabelle is "her friend". She keeps asking me if I am proud of her because she is not hitting, biting or scratching her friends. It is the small things that get us excited :) Lilly is doing an excellent job in school. She knows her letters, is interacting with teachers and friends more and more each day - her progress is really fun to watch. She has decided being a big girl is something she likes.
