Gabby's Personality

Every day is fun with Gabby. Saturday we went to the park and Gabby had her first "sting". We are not sure what it was that got her...but her right foot swelled up, got red and had a fever. Good thing is was just her foot :) She handled it like a champ and didn't even mind the ice cube we stuck on it after.

Yesterday we all went to a Padres game (Gabby's first). Her eye doctor invited us to the game along with the other doctors that she visits...I have to tell you, I've gone to a lot of baseball games and this is the way to do it! We were fortunate to be in the owners private box, which was great for Gabby so she could crawl around and not be in the direct sunlight. Dr. Granet and Dr. Zhang were both very pleased with her progress.

Today, she got her first bloody lip! That is what happens when you start walking (and she's not even 10 mos yet)! She gets more and more personality everyday and it is a lot of fun to watch. She already has papa wrapped around her little finger....

Gabby has 2 teeth

It took so long for the first one to appear but the second one just showed up! Gabby has been in great spirits lately and has started to eat the #3's really well!

This picture was taken at the beach this morning in Del Mar. We had a good time hanging on the blankets while Gordon slipped into the ocean to dosome body surfing. Gabby met some new friends at the park and decided that she is OK with dogs.

Gabby is sporting one of three new pairs of sunglasses. She still gets comments everywhere she goes!

Gabby's First Tooth

Gabby is 9 months old today and her first tooth is in sight! Gabby has been extra fussy, running a slight fever and we finally have an answer...she is teething. We hoped this was the cause of her unhappiness and we finally have confirmation. This morning we saw her first tooth coming in on the bottom. YEA!!!

Gabby loves her books

With Gabby's new found independence, she has decided it is either books, bathroom or the refrigerator! She loves to pull things out but has not learned to put them back!

Gabby has her independence

Happy 4th of July everyone! Gabby has her independence and loves it. She crawls everywhere and frequently we look around and she is gone...only to be found in her room playing (but really eating) her books! There is nothing out of reach for her. These pictures are right after the pool when she gets a little bit of "naked time".

Gabby Update

I have been very remiss in posting pictures and updates. I am finishing up school and am taking 2 classes in 6 weeks and that doesn't leave a lot of free time! Anyways...I should start with the good news that the results of her EEG (previous post) all came back indicating normal brain activity. That was a result that made us celebrate and smile. This last week we had 2 doctor appointments, Dr. Jones the genetictist and then we had another renal ultrasound. Gabby was a trooper through them all.
Dr. Jones said that "we (Gabby) made his day" due to the fact that she is doing so well. He was the one that recommended her for the helmet and he said that her outcome was stellar! From these appointments, we know that her weight of a little over 18 lbs is good and her head is in the 50th percentile.
We have not gotten the results of the renal ultrasound and await those next week.
Hard to believe but Gabby is 81/2 months old! We Have moved and since she has carpet - there is no stopping her! She has 2 toy bins, 3 book shelves and lots off room to run and play. Her favorite room is the kitchen :) She loves to hang out with us in the kitchen in the morning and follows us everywhere. Our new place has a wonderful kids pool, which Gabby frequents daily. We have also gone to the park a couple of times and Gabby was trying to get in the bouncehouse (it was at the park for a little boys birthday party). She really likes the swings at the park and we will get some pics of that and post it soon.
Other reports...still no teeth! I know - I am not sure when they are coming but it has to be soon. She is eating crackers and can pick them up and feed herself! She is standing and sitting and has gotten adventuresome recently and loves to play in her room with her books. She is also a big girl now and eats breakfast lunch and dinner in her new highchair (which matches our kitchen)!
That's the update on Gabby front. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Gabby's EEG

Gabby had an EEG today. She was awesome...we were tired! We had to wake her up at 4:00am today so that she would fall asleep during the test. Obviously that was no problem!
