Fun in the Sun

We all have been enjoying the warm and mild weather recently. The girls have been at the park and lots of sand and trampoline time! They enjoying playing "Monster" on the tramp and making sand castles in the sand. Maddy gets so excited everytime she hears the bath water turn on...it is clear that she loves bath time as well!
The other night, Lilly was put to sleep in a diaper and PJs...but this is how she woke up! Scary for a mother who is in the middle of potty training! She was good until she woke up and then she didn't make it to the potty...but she has been staying dry at night! Lilly is adjusting to life as a "big girl". Potty training, going to school, napping on a cot, having to use words and not throwing tantrums to solve problems and sleepin in a big girl bed. When I think about it, there has been a LOT of change for her in the last 2 months. At times I wonder if we are making progress...then I step back and realize, she is doing pretty darn amazing for 27 months!

Parties and Trips

We have had a full couple of weeks. It was Gordon's birthday so Gabby and I made a cake and decorated it with LOTS of icing. We then had all the Bigler's over for a fun dinner. I tried to get a picture of Gordon with the girls and succeeded but Lilly was being Lilly. In the picture where she is screaming - she got upset because the candles were hot...she has really learned about hot things and gets very upset about them. She also wanted to blow them out but Gabby did it first...oh the hardships of being the 2nd child!  We then had St. Patrick's Day parties. I should have gotten a picture of Gabby's outfit - but she was green head to toe. Maddy has had a rough couple of weeks between ear infections and antibiotics causing serious yeast infections. She is still smiling. The last picture is from yesterday and is her first ponytail. It reminds me so much of Lilly....just a couple months older! Girls are overall - great and we are all enjoying the time change and warmer weather.

Girls Trip to San Francisco

I wish I had these pictures in better order...but here are some pictures from our trip to San Francisco this past weekend.  We had planned to take a family trip to San Francisco as I ventured off on Saturday to Napa for Aunt Sandy's bachlorette party...but Gordon's great uncle Dick passed away and he needed to stay and attend the funeral. So, I sent Lilly to the farm with Grandma Debi, Gordon kept Maddy and Gabby and I took off on an adventure. It started with a quick stop at Starbucks for chocolate milk and a chocolate crossiant, followed by 3 princess movies in the car. We finally made it to Danville, where we were staying with my friend Charise. We stretched our legs, had a snack and decided to head to San Francisco for the day. Charise got her boys out of school so they could come with us. We all had our first BART experience. The kids loved the train ride - and holding the tickets and putting them in the machine the most. They kept shouting "time tunnel, time tunnel approacing" - for anyone that watches Dinasour Train, you know what I am talking about. We then got to SF and took a bike cab to Pier 39 where we had fish and chips for lunch (although it was actually 2pm). We pushed on and went to the aquarium. It was reallt cool. The kids got to touch all kids of living animals and get up close to several others. We spent a good amount of time there and then checked out the elephant seals and all the other things on the wharf and then headed back to the train station. We were in a little bit of commuter traffic but it really wasn't bad. The kids had a great time. I wished we had been able to do and see more...but I remind myself that Gabby is 5 and that windows of 3-4 hours are about all I will get. I didn't go to SF, it just happened to be close and we made it a day trip - I think we did pretty good. The rest of the weekend was a blast and Gabby loved getting to hang with the Tom boys again.  I have already heard the "when are we going to go back" question! It was a long trip but totally worth it.

Fun Happenings Around the House

The last couple of weeks have been horrible at our house. The younger two kids and mom got sick! Maddy had an ear infection on top of teething and Lilly after completing her first week of school, came home and threw up all over her rug and then had diarrhea for over a week! It was so bad that we had to revert back to diapers and not send her to school all week. Then the Nanny got sick! I had an ear infection, sinus infection and the flu. Needless to say - we are VERY happy to all be feeling better. These pictures are the few I snapped this past week and the one of Lilly smiling is acutally at the Dr office as I was inquiring if I could give her some sort of medicine to stop her up.
