Fun Times at the Bigler House
Here are a few snapshots. To give you a "day in the life of the Bigler Girls". Gabby got to go to Grandmother Ann's house and play puppets. Lilly and Maddy played with puzzles, bells and a new safari puzzle bus. Maddy has all 4 teeth now and is hanging more and more with the big girls. Last night they all took a bath together for the first time. I think I may be getting rid of the infant bath soon as I fear she will not want to go back now that she has experienced freedom in the bath. She is getting really fast with crawling (bruised knees and all) and pulls herself up on everything she can. Lilly knows several of her letters and numbers and LOTS of colors. She is really into the "Biscuit" books and brushing her teeth. She is doing OK with potty training and I need to make a push to get it finalized...it's just hard because there is never a "good time" to do it! Gabby was Star Student of the day this week and continues to do well.

We are on the Potty Training Train
Lilly went pee on her potty for the very first time today! She said she had to go pee pee...right as I was headed out the door to work. This is not the first time she has done this and I always cave and go in the bathroom and sit and read at least 3 books to her. Today, we were on the second book when I heard it...I was SHOCKED! She was so excited and we all made a big deal out of it. This is when things took a challending turn...I kept telling her, when she went pee pee on the potty she could go to school with her sister. Well, she was ready to go to school today. I then felt like I did a bate and switch on her because then I had to explain to her that she needed to go pee pee on the potty all of the time before she could go to school with her sister. Both girls were upset - they got over it but this reminds me of how literal kids are. Anyways, we are on the road of potty training and Lilyl is goriwng up fast - hard to believe she is just 25 mos! She sleeps in a big girl bed all through the night, she is learning to go potty, she knows her colors, we are working on the ABCs... and she is one feisty girl!
In this picture, Gabby is holding See the Seagull. This past weekend in SD, the girls had some close encounters with the seagulls....one seagull took a piece of string cheese right out of Lilly's hand as she was eating it and another took half of Gabby's sandwich as she set it down to reposition herself on the blanket. Lilly proceeded to scold the seagulls whenever she saw them and Gabby would chase them away...so when Grandmother Ann watched Gabby for a couple of hours on Monday and she had a seagull - it was perfect.

San Diego Trip
We took a trip to San Diego this weekend. Gabby had been asking for a trip for a while and she was convinced that since it was Martin Luther King holiday weekend that we should go. We caved and packed the van and headed out of town. The weather was beautiful...couldn't be better. Unfortuantely the picture above is the only photo I took of all of the girls. It was just a "hands full" weekend. Maddy decided that since she is mobile, the bjorn was not a place she wanted to hang out and the only place she wanted to be was in moms arms. Nice on one hand....exhausting on the other :) Gordon was a trooper and really tried to keep her happy as much as he could. Then, we took the trolley and we lost one of her shoes :( Lilly was RUNNING everywhere. Gabby was chasing her...there was just no time for pictures. We went down to the pier and saw the Star of India, The Midway, went to a "real airport" and the girls got to see a big airplane up close and we had dinner at Whole Foods - an experience that the girls loved. On Saturday, Amy was game to meet up with us and do the zoo. It was so brief but it was great to have a chance to see her and Colter Jr. I told her she was getting an opportunity to do the zoo at warp speed - my girls move so fast! Conversation was brief and spotty but I'm lucky to have a friend that understands that and is willig to put up with us. Lucky to count her as a friends!

Lilly's 2-Year Check-Up
Look at our big 2-year old! Lilly had her check-up today and passed with flying colors. She is in the 22% for weight and the 65% for height! She has grown over 4 inches in the last 7 mos! I guess she's not THAT small :) Doctor thought she looked great. Her BMI is 8% and I think she is one strong little girl and is just perfect. Sometimes I forget that she is only 2...the way she wrestles with her older sister, the way she sleeps in her big girl bed all night, the way she talks, the way she gets in and OUT of the car (she knows how to open the door), the way she rides a horse all by herself, the way she loves her vegestables, the list goes on. Lilly is a true delight. She adds a spark to our life and is definetly headstrong but when she says "love you" or "O-tay"it just melts my heart. She is a good older sister and tries to feed baby all of the time. Most of all, she is our Lillybug!
Painting Pine Cones
Fun Saturday with Mom
Lilly and I had a fun Saturday morning together. We ran some errands and then stopped off at the park for some good climbing and sliding - but of course we couldn't pass up the swings - and then we came home and did some painting. Lilly LOVES to paint. She is very careful and tends to use a lot of blue but it is fun to watch her work. We still aren't sure if she's a lefty or a righty...still leaning towards lefty!

When Gabby is a Little Bigger
We got Gabby a new bike...but she needs to be a little older to ride it. We are getting close to taking training wheels off her bike...I'm not sure who's more scared, Gabby or Gordon. Gabby enjoys going for rides with us in the morning and is getting better at navigating all the sidewalks. She even rides her bike while I go for a run and she hangs with me for the 2 mile loop!
A Low-Key Weekend at the Farm
The girls and I headed to the farm this weekend. We had a lovely horseback ride (minus Lilly getting very upset mid-way through the ride), we did some fun coloring and a lot of playing in the dirt with rocks. Lilly loves to collect rocks or try to feed them to Sugar :) Often when we get home, we find a small pile of small rocks on the rear tailgate - we can't believe that they don't fall off through the canyon but we always know who put them there!
