Life with Three

We are adjusting to life with 3 girls. It is in constant motion but it is wonderful. Gabby has taken her role as the older sister very seriously and reminds us often how hard it is to make Madeline happy... she worries every time she cries! We are reminding her that crying is the only way babies can communicate and that she is not responsible for making Maddy happy - what a lucky mom to have kids that care so much! Maddy has been a joy this past week. She continues to be a good eater and sleeper - what more could a mom ask for? She is already filling out so much and changing daily.
I was worried about how Lillian would adjust but I must say - to date, it has gone well. She had a hard time the first time she saw me holding the new baby but since then has been fine with her. I do have to be careful as she is only 16 mos and does not really understand the word "gentle". She wants to grab her and is always offering Maddy her pink blanket.
Maddy had her 1st bath today...it is amazing how with each kid, certain things are just not as important...baths happen to be one of those things for me. I recall with Gabby, I couldn't wait to give her her first bath...with Madeline - it didn't even cross my mind until today :) And guess what...she is alive and just fine!

Introducing Madeline Jane Bigler

On May 5, 2013, our family welcomed the latest addition, Madeline Jane Bigler. Born at 1:20am weighing 6lbs 12 ozs and 20.75" long. She came 1 week early and without a lot of notice...It was a fast delivery and all things considered - went very smoothly. Gabby got to come to the hospital to meet her sister and fell in love at first sight. Maddy has strawberry blonde hair - not as much as Lilly had but still a good amount.

Getting Up to Speed

We have had a busy couple of weeks. My last day of work was April 26th and then the next day we went to San Diego for a last vacation before I gave birth. We had a great time. Lilly got a little bug but was a total trooper. We went to the zoo, beach, park, seals, saw the La Jolla Half marathon, had some great pizza and enjoyed the cooler weather. We almost made it to art walk but Lilly had a blow out and that changed the course for the afternoon. We had a great time.
It has also been warming up here in Bakersfield. The girls love to run through the sprinkler after school - I can't blame them! This weekend was the first weekend that the kids were able to get in the pool at our house. Gabby is a fish and Lilly loves it as well. Grandmother Ann has been picking the girls up in the afternoon and they enjoy time with her. Gabby has graham crackers and milk and Lilly loves to eat strawberries. Both girls are doing well.
