Gabby is Ready for Kindergarten
The other day Gabby came into the kitchen and told me she was ready for kindergarten because she can now make her own bed and put her own clothes on! And she did...I wish I had taken a picture of the outfit she put on...nothing matched but it was perfect! She is now determined to not only pick out her own clothes but to also put them on all by herself. She does it perfectly, the underwear are on the right direction, the socks are on correctly, the shirts and skirt have the tags in the back. She did tell me that she was not old enough to do her own hair - thank goodness she still needs me a little bit! She is also into looking fancy. She picked out her pjs last night and wanted to wear her ballet slippers so her feet stayed nice a cozy. She even picked out the headband to match - she loves being "fancy". How lucky am I?

Fun Weekend
We had a fun weekend! The girls are now able to take a bath together and it is fun to watch them interact. We also used the double stroller my sister shared with us - yes Ali - you are right, I might use it more than I think :) Lastly, I haven't shown any pictures of the Monty Monster lately. Monty is a very smart dog and he is a good dog...he just drives us nuts! He continues to eat the bushes and for some reason likes to bring them right to the door to show us. He is also diggin a little...in the middle of the grass! All of those things are annoying but he is a wonderful dog and is a lot of fun to go swimming with. We just got him another haircut and he is a good looking boy.

Post Vacation
Our 1st Beach Vacation
So we took our first summer beach vacation this past weekend!!! It was a lot of work :) and a lot of fun! Gabby had a blast playing in the waves, sand and making new friends. As we were leaving the beach she told me that she was a girl so she needed a boyfriend - I stopped in my tracks! She is only 4 - this can't already be starting...can it? Anyways, we had a wonderful day in Huntington Beach and with our fair skinned kids - we were impressed that we lasted 3 hours! We took a tent but learned you can no longer have a tent on the beach :( I was holding Lilly most of the time so these are the only pictures I was able to grab. We had a wonderful walk on the pier that evening and had some yummy ice cream to top it all off. All in all - great weekend.

Gracie's 1st Birthday
Saturday was cousin Gracie's 1st birthday party (I stole these pictures from Dusty's blog). We made the trek to Fresno for her party and had a great time. It was a swim party so Gabby spent almost the whole time in the pool....Lilly just hung out next to the pool. Dusty and Matt did a lot of work and had all the details covered - great job! First birthdays are always fun to attend and always so much work for the parents! Gabby then got to go to the farm for the rest of the weekend and Gordon and I had some adult time - we kept asking ourselves - how did we think 1 kid was hard?? I can only imagine how it multiplies with each kid! We had a wonderful date night, a great glass of wine (thank you Matt for the Christmas bottle - I am now enjoying it), a funny movie and then we had a chance to play tennis the next day. It truly was a great weekend and Gabby had a blast at the farm. Lots of Cheerios, playing dress up, playing at the ditch, church and lots of "Curious George Goes to the Hospital". Lilly had a lot of good mom and dad time. She is ALMOST crawling!!! We are not helping her at all because I'm not ready for a mobile baby!!! She is doing great and is a good eater. We have finally moved her into her room and so she is no longer in the guest room. As strange as this sounds, I miss her...and she is just on the other side of the house. All in all, not a bad weekend - and now we are heating up - over 100 all week!

Happy 4th of July
This was Gabby's 1st 4th of July that she will remember. So...we bought some fireworks and she got to help set them off in the street - she loved it! It was a very nice evening as all the neighbors were out in the street doing the same thing. We had a wonderful and relaxing day. We went for a walk, jumped on the trampoline, swung on the swings, made grass stew, made a sand & water play area for Gabby to "play in the mud", went swimming, took naps, went to Grandmother Ann's, went swimming, and then had fireworks. What a fun full day! Gabby learned a lot of safety tips at school and made sure that we all were wearing shoes (not crocs) and had a bucket of water.
