Gaby's First Beach Party

Gabby was so excited....today was beach party picnic day at Little Red School House. She got to wear her bathing suit to school and "water shoes". We applied lots of sunblock and she is ready to go. I have never met another kid that enjoys playing in and with water as much as Gabby.

Back to Square One

We have had a tough week! Lilly was sent home on Monday with Roseola. On Wednesday Gabby was sent home with possible Hand Foot & Mouth. Today - both are healthy and back to school!!! Whew...what a week, I can't believe it's already Friday!!

Lilly's Bath Time

Lilly had been taking a shower with me in the evening...but she has now moved on to the bath tub! She loves to kick her legs in the water and enjoys her bathtime. You would never believe that she is sick in this pictures...but Lilly has had a fever all weekend. Not sure exactly what the cause is but she has not been her usual happy self.  I went to get some exercise on Saturday and this is what I came home to - this is how dad handles babysitting :) Two peas in a pod!

Some Fun With Dad

The girls love to climb all over Gordon. He is a pretty good sport about it. We love the summer evenings....

Lillian Turns 6 Mos Old!!

Where does the time go?? Lilly turned 6 mos yesterday! We had her check-up and she is doing great! Almost 15lbs and is 25.5 inches long. She is more petite than Gabby but that's what makes her u-neek (my tribute to the Fancy Nancy books we have been reading). Lilly is up on all 4's and is scooting everywhere - it may not be too much longer and then I will have 2 mobile children!!

A few more pictures

This is a picture from Gabby's dance recital. She did an amazing job - we couldn't be prouder. The other picture is from Saturday's trip to the farm. Gabby loves Morning Glory!

Lilly's New HIgh Chair

Lilly got a new high chair yesterday! Hard to believe but we didn't have one with Gabby....so this is new for all of us! She had a great time in it this morning and ate her bananas before school. She is on the verge of crawling...she is trying to get on all four's and is very close. YIKES!!! Not sure I'm ready for a mobile baby :)

Happy Father's Day

We had a nice Father's Day yesterday. We had lots of swimming, good food and lots of fun with our cousins. Gabby had a full weekend. On Friday night, she got to camp out on the trampoline with dad - which was great EXCEPT they forgot mosquito repellant!!! Between Gabby and Gordon, they have about 200 bites! Gabby has them on her hands and face - it is so painful to look at but after researching it on the internet, we have found that roll-on deoderant works really well! Saturday I took the girls to the farm. Gabby had a blast playing with Gage and Isabella. She got to ride Morning Glory bareback for 2 hours (which happened to be during nap time....and when it was 102 degrees!). We got to see Coolman Jack's new puppy, his baby turkeys and Paula Dean (his pig). Lilly was in great spirits and we had a great time. Sunday was full of fun times but a nap was required! In the picture below, Gordon is wearing a hat from Lilly and a tie from Gabby. The tie is the cutest thing I've ever seen!!  I hope that everyone had a Wonderful Father's Day!

The Ultimate Swing Set

Anyone that knows my kid, knows how much she LOVES to swing. She could swing for hours....we pulled the swing out when we had Lillian but Gabby has used it more than Lilly in the last 6 mos! She turns the music on and swings and swings. Well, Gordon decided to build her a swing set! It has been a fun project for him - although exhausting. It is now up and functional. There are still a few pieces that we need to attach but Gabby can swing! Gabby helped dad put it together and didn't lose any pieces! Fun times lie ahead.

Bigler Girls

How  lucky could we be? I love this picture. Lilly loves Gabby and Gabby loves Lilly. They entertain each other constantly and I love it!

Lilly's First Trip to the Pool

It was a perfect weekend in Bakersfield - warm but not too hot. Lilly had her first trip to the pool on Saturday. She really enjoyed the water and I'm sure it is the first of several trips this summer.

Lilly's hair is getting so long in the front that I am pretty sure I am going to need to cut it. It is hard to believe that she is not even 6 mos and I need to cut her hair! She is doing a great job with eating. She has had carrots, pears, applesauce and bananas. I have made the decision that the magic bullet is the best baby food maker! All of her food has been homemade so far - and I think I can make it happen this time. I told Gordon that now we have food in our refrigerator - making baby food is not that hard. With Gabby, we didn't eat the way we do now so making food seemed a lot harder. How kids change ones life...

Gabby was showing her how to use her big kickers and strokers - and can't wait until she can swim with her. Gabby had a full day yesterday - tennis, bike riding, park, reading, swimming and dinner with Granparents. Great Sunday!

After School Treat

Grandmother Ann picked Gabby up from school on Thursday and took her to get an ice cream cone at Dewar's (they opened an express one right down the sreet) for being Student of the Day.  On Friday when Gandmother Ann picked Gabby up, the first thing she asked was if they were going to get an ice cream cone? Somehow she talked her into it....2 days in a row! What a lucky girl!!

Lilly has Spirit Day

Thursday Lilly was sent home with a t-shirt from her school - Friday is spirit day.  The shirt was a little too big for her to wear but it is a nice color of blue.

Getting Ready for the Dance Recital

Here are pictures from last night. We had a dry run on the costume, make-up and hair. I am not sure I'm cut out to be a "Dance Mom". Gabby had a ball...and as we were leaving the dance studio she told me that when she is a little older that she wants to take 2 dance classes....

Lilly's First Real Laugh

What parent wouldn't love to hear and see this? Lilly was sitting in the bumbo last night and Gabby started waiving her pom pom. All of a sudden, I hear a Lilly laughing! This was the first "real" laugh that I have heard from her. It warmed my heart that it was with Gabby. Gabby had so much fun once she realized she could make Lilly laugh and that she was watching her. It was the first time that she felt like she was "playing with her". And of course, the hugs and kisses are always sweet.

Tonight Gabby has her dance recital pictures - I'll try to grab a few pictures. Stay tuned....

Lilly's First Meal

The reality that Lilly needs more than my milk to keep her tummy full hit full force last week. Lilly has been reaching for our food for a few weeks so I thought I'd try some rice cereal to see how it went. First day she didn't care for it too much but by the second day, she loved it. She opens her mouth and grabs the spoon and puts it in her mouth! She eats cereal 2-3 times a day and is still nursing me! I am not sure how much more milk I can make...I need to refresh my memory on this phase but I know Lilly is gaining weight like crazy. So proud of my little girl yet a little sad because it means that she's not so little any more...

Lillybug

Lillian is an active little one. You cannot leave her anywhere because she rolls right off...even the changing table. I'm not sure I'm ready for 2 mobile kids - but I cannot stop it from happening! This was a new outfit from Grandmother Ann and she looked so cute.

Gabby's Playdate

Gabby had a fun playdate this past weekend and enjoyed playing in the water and eating ice cream with Aliza and Ella. They even played dress up - so cute!

Gabby and Mom at Dance Class

Gabby has been doing a really good job at dance class. Her recital is in 2 weeks and she is getting ready. We have even been practicing a little! Once her class is over, Gabby always wants to sit and watch the older girls' dance class. Who knows....we may have another session in stroe for us!

Gabby's New Bikini

Gabby came back from the farm wearing a new bikini! She would not take it off and she feels so grown up in it. Thank you Grandma Debi!! Her hair looked beautiful.
