Gabby is a Goat Lover

We went to the zoo this past weekend and Gabby really enjoyed the petting zoo. She was hugging all of the goats and even tried to ride one. That afternoon as I was putting her down for her nap, I learned that the goat smell I thought was coming from my shoes was actually coming from her hair!

School

I love this picture! This was from Tuesday as she was headed to school. Gabby loves wearing flowers in her hair and she gets to pick the color every morning - sometimes they match and sometimes they don't - either way, they are cute!

Growing up

It is so much fun to watch them think and learn.

Our very own Pocahontas

Gabby loves this headband. She will put it on and dance around the kitchen "like a princess". It is really fun to watch. This video was much longer but I couldn't get it to upload...and yes - we do painting (finger and water colors) in our kitchen regularly!!!

Gabby's Trip to the Beauty Salon

Gabby had her first "real" haircut this weekend. She got to go with me to the beauty salon and Alex cut her hair. She still has her beautiful curls...it is just all one length now. We love it!

A day at the Zoo

We had a fun weekend and yes...we went to the zoo! We got great views of the Rhinos, Giraffe's and Hippo's - and Gabby got to hug a Bamboo the Panda. Gabby really enjoys the zoo and visiting the animals and we feel so fortunate to live so close to a great zoo.

Feeling Better

Gabby has been dancing around the kitchen like a princess the last few days - I think she is feeling better! She also enjoys trying on some of her different and older sunglasses - too cute! Gabby was at the botanical gardens today and then had a picnic at my office - what a fun morning!

Happy New Year!

Gabby has been a little under the weather this past week. We went to the doctor today and got antibiotics for a sinus infection. We are hopeful that this is the last of this nasty cold! Yesterday was our family day and we didn't think it would be considerate to take a sick child to church so we headed to our next favorite Sunday outing - the San Diego Zoo.
Every time we go, we see a different animal up close. This time we had a chance to see the male lion closer than we ever had before. Truly amazing animal! The other picture is of 1 of the 2 smaller hippos. Their teeth are much bigger than I expected and they are able to eat branches under water!
We had a very nice day and are getting back into a routine after a wonderful holiday season. Here's to a great 2011!
