Christmas Eve 2010

Gabby was a princess in her beautiful green and black dress from Aunt Sandy. She loved wearing it (and is growing so fast that she won't fit in it for long) and was the best party greeter I have ever seen. She made it through most of the party but fell asleep in my arms after 2 songs from the carolers. She had a wonderful Christmas Eve party. Gabby then woke up to find that Santa had been to Grandmother and Grandfather's house and left a stocking and presents for her...what a great way to wake up!

Where's Gabby?

Last night we were playing with the blocks and building totem poles. Gabby decided she wanted to be buried by blocks - I couldn't resist a few photos!

A rainy day at the zoo

A little rain this past weekend could not keep us from the zoo! We had another amazing encounter with the Polar Bear and saw the female lion as close as possible (they have huge heads)!

Ringing Bells

By special request, Gabby went back to the zoo today and then to the Children's Museum. Along the way, Captain Smitty let her ring the bell on the trolley!

Gabby Swimming in December

It was so nice yesterday that even though Gabby is still fighting a cough and runny nose - we went for a swim! She is getting more and more brave and now wants to jump into the deep end of the pool because that is where the ladder is and she can climb out on her own! We had a wonderful champagne brunch yesterday and listened to carolers. Gabby binged on cantaloupe and drank orange juice for the first time (she kept asking for the orange drink)! Gotta love San Diego in the winter!

Christmas at the San Diego Zoo

We had a very full day on Saturday. We went to the zoo in the morning and had a fun time. We went to the petting zoo where Gabby showed her love for the goats. They have a miniature horse in the petting zoo which clearly did not live up to "Morning Glory" status. We then went to the Sea Lion Show. Gabby got to sit in the front row and after the show had an opportunity to pet a wild singing dog and a cockatoo.
After the zoo we went to a Holiday Party at the PAC. Gabby got to bounce in the bounce house and put her feet in the pool.
We went home for nap and once she woke up, we decided to head back to the zoo to see the Holiday lights. It was beautiful. We saw a lot of the animals up close but pictures don't come out very well at night. Anyways, there was a beautiful bell choir playing christmas carols and Gabby had a blast. It has been wonderful weather and we are taking full advantage of it!

Gabby loving the shower

Gabby loves the shower...I mean LOVES the shower! She takes a morning shower with me everyday but stays in for about 30-40 minutes! She sings in the shower and as you can see...gets very comfortable in there. The wet picture is Gabby resting in the shower after she has created a pillow with her letters & numbers. The second picture is of Gabby refusing to get out of the shower even after I turned the water off and took away her pillow!

Gabby's Vision Test

Gabby had a 2nd vision test today at UCSD. Dr. Granet wanted us to do the test again to verify the numbers...and they came back even better than before! Gabby sat in the chair and took the test all by herself.Left eye - 20/50 Right eye - 20/40! We are thrilled!!

Christmas in Del Mar

We went to the Del Mar holiday festival. Gabby got to meet Jed (a Belgian Draft Horse), the Gingerbread Queen, and explored the bounce houses (she was brave through the solo obstacle course) and fire truck. Gabby decorated sugar cookies and ate most of the frosting...and then didn't want to take a nap :) It was a wonderful day and Gabby had a blast.

Fun day at the Zoo

We had a blast at the zoo yesterday. We had a great opportunity to be up close and personal with the polar bear. After zoo, we then went to the Children's Museum for a holiday party...Gabby had a great day and was all topped off by acquiring a new horse and barn!

Gabby Climbing

Gabby spent all morning in a doctor's office and was very happy to be outside at the park. She is climbing!!! The only problem is she is climbing on the table and dancing...YIKES!

Gabby with Morning Glory

Gabby had a wonderful trip to the farm for Thanksgiving. She loved playing with Freckles, Ginger and all the other farm animals, making tea in her new kitchen, bouncing on the trampoline, climbing the stairs, talking on grandma Debi's antique telephone, and riding in the swings. Gabby especially enjoyed riding Morning Glory everyday...even bareback!!

Bigler Bowling Night

We went bowling! It was a lot of fun and Gabby was enjoyed the outing. In the pictures, those balls are 10 lbs and 6 lbs...she is a strong girl! She even rolled the ball down the lane and knocked a pin over. We were chasing her from chair to chair and down the lanes (Gordon has first hand knowledge of how much polish they put on the lanes and how slippery they are)! I must admit that I lost the 2 games we kept score...145 to 147 :( It was a lot of fun and a great family event, we'll put this one on the repeat list for sure.

Gabby Swimming

Yesterday was a big day for Gabby. We got some decent video of her swimming last night and thought we would share it with everyone. Gabby really loves the water.

First Day of School

I think this is harder for mom than for Gabby! She loves it. There are 8 kids in her class, lots of teachers and as you can see - a lot of things to do!

Halloween 2010

This was Gabby's first time trick-or-treating...and the first time that mom or dad had gone trick-or treating since highschool! We had quite a group: a bee, a giraffe, an astronaut, and pumpkins. We had a good time but the bad thing is that Gabby got a lot of candy but will not eat it! We let her try a few different kinds but she would rather eat chocolate ice cream! So....if anybody want s some free candy - swing by!
Gabby learned how to say tick-or-treat very well and really had a good time. It is exhausting!!!

Pre-Halloween

Gabby got to dress up in the morning as a princess. She loved the tutu, the boots and barbie! What a beautiful princess!
